Fernand Toussaint, the ‘Belgian Renoir’

Today, the works of this post-impressionist painter are sought after by the most important collectors of European art in the world. Toussaint’s elegant and wistful female portraits and genre scenes have led to him be referred to as “the Belgian Renoir”.

As leadingpromoters who have a fervent desire to celebrate the memory of 19th and early 20th century Belgian artists, Patrick and Viviane Berko have written fifteen art books over the years. It was natural, therefore, that they published an important monograph on Fernand Toussaint a couple of years agoand a second volume is currently being researched.
